Understanding how your child learns

Psycho Education Assessments

A learning profile that guides teaching

Overview

What is Psycho Education Assessments?

A psycho educational assessment identifies how a child learns, processes and produces information, and why some school tasks feel harder than others. The resulting learning profile guides teaching at school, support at home and therapy at our centre.

Cognitive and academic testing combined with history and parent input, delivered in house and explained fully, so every child receives the support their learning profile calls for.

FAQs

Common questions

How is this different from a psychological assessment?

A psycho educational assessment focuses specifically on learning: how your child thinks, reads, writes and calculates, and what support their profile calls for.

What ages do you assess?

We assess school age children through adolescents; younger children are usually better served by a developmental assessment first.

Will the report help at school?

Yes. Reports include classroom strategies and can support applications for school accommodations.

Can you assess for dyslexia and other learning difficulties?

Yes. Our psycho educational assessment identifies learning difficulties such as dyslexia, looks at memory, processing and attention, and gives clear recommendations for school.
